Fringe Benefits of Assisted Living

Choosing assisted living in San Francisco, CAGet it right.  Picking the right assisted living facility can literally come down to minor details.  So you’ve been trying to find the best assisted living in San Francisco for your senior aged loved one.  Now they are all starting to look the same.  There are things that the assisted living community does not advertise as an amenity, feature or service provided.  It may all come down to the types of care workers who are working there and their personalities.  When you have narrowed the choices down to just a few in San Francisco, now is the time to mingle with the other residents and the workers.  Asking the residents what the workers do that “isn’t on their payroll” may really make the decision easy.

Home Alone in Los Angeles

In big cities like Los Angeles it’s easy to walk past a senior’s residence and just assume that he or she prefers to stay in, but confinement can be a form of elder abuse.  Pay attention to changes in an elderly friend’s behaviors.  For years you may have seen a senior in your neighborhood coming outside to get the mail or water their flowers, but upon receiving senior care the senior is no longer seen outside of the home, ever.  Honestly, you may feel like a nosy neighbor or friend, but it certainly doesn’t make you one to care about someone and want to know why there has been a strange change in behavior.  Ask questions or stop over to visit and see if there is an explanation for the senior’s change of behavior like a medical concern or issue or a change in physical condition.  If you are not able to explain why it appears as if the senior has had a change in behavior, you may consider asking the senior if there is any reason for concern.

Home Care in San Jose

Home Care San JoseMany San Jose home care professionals are licensed practical nurses. Some home care workers in San Jose are independent and the risks may be slightly greater with hiring a home care worker to assist your family, if he or she is not part of a reputable, recognized, licensed and/ or insured agency.   Having a non-medical home care worker who is not only able to assist with personal care and home care needs, but who is certified in CPR or other medical training is an added bonus and more reason to hire a home care worker today for your senior aged loved one.  Many home care workers are part of an agency.
